smartphones will be even better to use at night

Even if Google releases new versions of Android 15, there is still a lot of work to be done behind the scenes that has not been revealed. These news will arrive later, but can now be seen. The Android 15 code reveals a lot and this time it showed that smartphones will be even better to use at night or in low light.

Even though users control the brightness of their smartphone screens, it is not yet perfect. Brands seek to improve many areas, but they do not always focus on what users need to be able to use their equipment in a way that best suits their needs.

So, Google decided to focus on Android 15 and add some important extras here. One of those that seems to be already being prepared is the possibility of reducing the screen brightness beyond what is currently the minimum offered to users on smartphones.

The name given to this new Android 15 feature is “even dimmer” and is related to the smartphone's brightness settings. Android already has an option called “extra dim” that needs to be activated manually whenever the user wants to use it.

There is still no clear definition of what this new option will be, but Google already describes it very clearly. According to the present code, this “will allow the device to be darker than normal”, that is, changing the screen brightness.

It is also not clear whether this new option will have to be activated manually whenever the user wants or whether it can be used in conjunction with other options. Specifically, we have the adaptive brightness option, which can be taken even further and have an even lower brightness, for extreme situations.

This should be a new feature that Google will show in Android 15 soon. With new test versions arriving soon, users will be able to explore many new features that appear to be being prepared and incorporated in this new update.
