Microsoft is adjusting the necessary requirements for future versions of Windows 11, namely 24H2, which is expected to be available in October 2024. This new update will be heavily focused on AI, and it is possible that Microsoft will begin to alert users who are on systems that cannot take full advantage of the technology.

These two technologies may be necessary for users to boot with Windows 11 24H2, and considering that they apply directly to the system, there is no way around them for systems with older processors.
In other words, Windows 11 24H2 may be even more limited in terms of the processors it supports, leaving aside old processors without support for both technologies, and without the ability to get around this limitation directly.
Microsoft may be preparing these requirements taking into account some AI features that will appear in this version of the system. One of them will be the Smart File Explorer, which was recently discovered in the Windows source code.
It is still unknown how this would work, but it basically appears to be a variant of the system’s traditional File Explorer, where AI is integrated to help users navigate through it.
For now, the code indicates that the functionality is only available for ARM64 systems, which may indicate that it is exclusive to Microsoft for Surface devices, but it may also eventually reach other users. At the same time, to use the functionality, in addition to the processor, the system also needs at least 16 GB of available RAM.
