Samsung is one of the main players in the smartphone market and one of the most popular manufacturers in the Android universe. It was exactly 15 years ago that the South Korean brand launched its first smartphone with the Google operating system. Remember the Galaxy i7500?

In April 2009, Samsung presented its first Android smartphone, but it was only in June of that same year that the Galaxy i7500 physically arrived in stores and in the hands of users.

Unlike what happened with other rival models, this Samsung terminal was equipped with an OLED screen and a larger battery. But its main novelty was the Android 1.5 operating system that worked in conjunction with a Qualcomm MSM7200A processor.

The OLED panel was just 3.2 inches and provided an HVGA resolution. Interestingly, it already had 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage capacity, which was expandable via microSD card slot.

The list of specifications also included a rear camera with five megapixels of resolution and autofocus, as well as GPS, microUSB input and 3.5 mm headphone jack.

Galaxy S arrived in 2010

Just a year later, Samsung launched the Galaxy i9000 or, as it later became known, Galaxy S. This terminal was also equipped with the Android operating system, but with Samsung’s first interface to camouflage it, TouchWiz 3.0.

The Galaxy S had other new features that placed it at a more premium level in the market. Namely: a 4-inch Super AMOLED screen with Gorilla Glass protection.

Inside was housed the 1 GHz Hummingbird processor and a 1500 mAh battery. The first Galaxy S also had the capacity to record HD videos and support for the aptX codec, DLNA and even a microSD card slot.

Gone are those times. The latest premium model launched by Samsung, Galaxy S24 Ultra, is also the first with features based on Artificial Intelligence that have been giving the South Korean giant a lot of popularity and sales. But these are not the only attributes.
