2nd generation Apple Vision Pro may only arrive at the end of 2026

-

With the launch of Apple Vision Pro this year — which marked the entry of Apple in the world of “space computing” —, there has been much speculation about a possible launch date for the second generation of the product. According to Mark Gurman (of Bloomberg), this launch will take a while.

In the most recent edition of his newsletter, the journalist stated that Apple does not intend to launch a second generation of the Apple Vision Pro before the end of 2026 — although the company is trying to discover ways to reduce the cost of the headset and launch a cheaper version before from that.

Such a more affordable version has been speculated since the product’s announcement, at WWDC23, both due to the extremely high cost charged by the gadget and the Pro designation present in its name — something used by Apple traditionally in more powerful versions of a product line.

Until the end of 2026, news for the Apple Vision Pro should focus on software — visionOS should be at least in version 3.0 — and, in the near future, expansion into new markets. So far, the device is only available for purchase in the United States.

The date indicated also indicates that the launch of the Vision Pro may coincide with that of the iPhones, which are traditionally launched in the second half of the year — a period in which the main system updates for Apple devices are also released.
