The Vision Pro went on sale three months ago. But it was not the expected sales success and now sales are decreasing even more.

Given this scenario, the solution to revitalize sales could be a cheaper variant of the mixed reality headset, but journalist Mark Gurman claims that Apple is having difficulty making the Vision Pro cheaper.

Apple cannot define where it can reduce costs

According to the journalist from the Bloomberg news agency, Tim Cook’s company cannot define where it can reduce costs.

In other words, which components or features can you cut to reduce the production price and, consequently, the final selling price to the public.

Says Mark Gurman that the current launch schedule for Apple’s headset “does not require a second-generation model of the Vision Pro until the end of the year 2026”.

But the journalist also says that Tim’s company would like to launch a more affordable variant of the equipment even before that date.

Apple changed launch schedule for a new AR/VR headset

Lower sales of the Vision Pro forced Apple to review the launch schedule for new devices of its kind. Remember that, initially, a second generation of the headset was supposed to be available next year 2025.

But well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has already assured that Apple has changed the schedule and the new date is now in 2026.

However, there is also a profound silence, from the brand and from rumors, about the availability of the headset in more countries around the world. And if sales continue to decline, it is possible that there will also be changes to the dates and countries in which the Vision Pro will be available.
