Google Photos with improvements and control over faces it shows

-

Of Google’s many services, Photos is one of the proposals that has evolved to give users more and more. Its image editing was recently updated and something new seems ready to be launched. Soon we will be able to control who we want to see in images and memories much better.

Despite often being discreet, Google has brought many improvements to Google Photos. These give the ability to more efficiently manage all the photos and videos present in this service, whether through its interface available on the Internet or simply in the app dedicated to Android and iOS.

Now, and from the analysis of the app dedicated to Android, a new capability has emerged prepared for this service. It is a complement to the ability to hide faces in saved and displayed images, which already exists. Now, it will be possible to have much greater control in this field.

You will soon be able to use the “Show less” option so that a face does not appear in Memories, but is still visible in group photos. This appears to be a more limited version of the “Lock Face” option, which makes faces disappear completely from Memories and group photos.

The “People and pets” section of Google Photos, where you name the faces that appear in photos, will have a new “Hide face from memories” section. Here users can add a face and this section will open a dialog box to choose what they want to do – see less or block.

Google Photos hide faces

This new feature is not currently available in the Photos app, but Google is testing its presence. It could be launched soon, but there is still no official confirmation about its existence. Given its usefulness, it is likely to appear soon.

This must be the way that Google found to remove some faces from users' memories that they don't want to be remembered. Instead of deleting the photos, they will simply hide or show fewer people, as intended.
