The Galaxy S24 range arrived with many Galaxy AI features. We’ve already seen most of these new features reach the Galaxy S23 range and several other flagship smartphones as part of the One UI 6.1 update. Now it’s time for the Galaxy S22 range to receive One UI 6.1.
One UI 6.1 is now arriving on the Galaxy S22 with lots of new features!
Galaxy S22 owners in Korea have confirmed that Samsung has pushed the One UI 6.1 update to their smartphones. Considering the new features, it is not surprising that it is a somewhat heavy update. So get ready to download 3.1 GB.
Screenshots showing some of the new features confirm that many of the Galaxy AI features are indeed included in this update. The second screenshot confirms that Circle to Search, real-time translations during calls, web page summaries, and interpreter capabilities are included.
Meanwhile we don’t see any other features mentioned here, but Samsung previously confirmed that a much-improved Single Take mode would be coming to the Galaxy S22 series. Evidence also points to Instant Slow-Mo mode not being present on older Galaxy smartphones.
The most used function in Galaxy AI is not from Samsung
One of the highlights of the Galaxy S24 range is Galaxy AI, a suite of AI-powered features that can help you with many tasks, including searching, photo editing, writing and translating content from one language to another. Surprisingly, the most used Galaxy AI function in the Galaxy S24 range does not come from Samsung itself. Instead, it comes from Google.
So in a press release about expanding the availability of Galaxy AI, Samsung says that Google’s Circle to Search is the most widely used AI function in the Galaxy S24 range. “Circle to Search has revolutionized the way users search, helping it become the most used AI feature among Galaxy S24 users. It allows them to learn more about almost everything that appears on their screens quickly with a simple gesture, without having to switch applications.”
However, as you may know, Circle to Search allows you to search for anything on the screen by drawing a circle around it. The feature made its debut with the Galaxy S24 line of smartphones.
