Arrow Lake CPUs must use Intel Core Ultra 200 nomenclature

After the big launch of Meteor Lake processors in late 2023, Intel plans another big change in its CPU portfolio with the introduction of the Arrow Lake generation to desktops in 2024. With high processing expectations, the blue team’s new products should have a remodeled naming scheme, adopting the Intel Core Ultra 200 nomenclature.

On his account on X (formerly Twitter), informant Raichu pointed out the possible names of future processors. As with the company’s recent line of notebooks, the CPUs have the terms Intel Core Ultra, but no longer have the “i” that precedes the segment indicator.

For overclockable processors, the initial portfolio must include the Intel Core Ultra 5 245K, Ultra 7 265K and Ultra 9 285K. As for non-K models, blocked for any type of overclocking and limited to 65 W, the nomenclature would be Core Ultra 5 240, Ultra 7 255 and Ultra 9 275.

It is worth remembering that the first Core Ultra for notebooks use the number 100 in reference to their generation, while the Arrow Lake and Lunar Lake will use the second generation class 200. Furthermore, it’s worth noting that the Core Ultra 9 285K should be the chips’ maximum application on desktops, but it wouldn’t be surprising if Intel launched a beefier model soon, as a type of special edition.

Intel Arrow Lake processors still don’t have much information about technical specifications. However, you will need to purchase new motherboards with the LGA-1851 socket. The models are expected to be revealed starting in September.
