After the enormous controversy surrounding Helldivers 2 and Sony Interactive Entertainment, one more because it is necessary to have a new one every week, otherwise it doesn’t even seem normal anymore, the company announced that it will roll back the PlayStation Network requirement for the PC version of the game .

When it announced that it would be mandatory to link a Steam account to a PSN account to play Helldivers 2 on PC, Sony aroused the fury of thousands of players, who flooded the game with negative reviews. To make matters worse, players in regions without an official PSN presence were left without access to the game.

Now, Sony has announced that it will not move forward with the decision and it will not be necessary to link a Steam account to a PSN account to play Helldivers 2, a decision that these thousands of players wanted, especially those who had to ask for a refund because they were left without access to the game.

The requirement, set for May 30th, will not go ahead and Sony regrets what happened as “we are still learning what is best for PC gamers and your feedback has been invaluable. Thank you again for your continued support of Helldivers 2,” Sony wrote.
