Google Pixel 9 Pro XL? Hollow protective covers reinforce the debut of a new model in the line

Google may increase its family of high-end cell phones with the launch of an unprecedented variant in 2024. In addition to the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro, it is speculated that the search giant is also preparing a model called “Pixel 9 Pro XL ”, and this Monday (06), a new leak seems to reinforce this rumor.

ThinBorne, a manufacturer of protective cell phone cases, appears to have leaked accessories that will be compatible with the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL. The products give some clues as to what the design of Google’s new cell phones could be like, whose new features will include screens with more rounded corners and an even larger camera block.

The leak leads us to believe that the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro will have the same compact size as the Pixel 7a, which has a 6.1-inch screen. With this, the Pixel 9 Pro would serve the same niche as the iPhone 15 Pro, for example, which has powerful hardware in a more compact body than the iPhone 15 Pro Max or Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.

For those who prefer large phones, there will be the Pixel 9 Pro XL, which could revive the “XL” nomenclature last used in 2019, with the launch of the Pixel 4 XL. The leaked protective covers fuel rumors that the Pixel 9 Pro XL would be slightly taller than the Pixel 8 Pro, which has a 6.7-inch screen.

Rumors indicate that all models in the line will be equipped with the same Google Tensor G4 processor, which should be manufactured with Samsung’s 4-nanometer lithography — which could be a disadvantage for the manufacturer, since all advanced platforms from 2024 are quoted to be produced in 3 nanometers.

It is worth remembering that there is also speculation about the launch of the “Pixel 9 Pro Fold”, which would be the long-awaited successor to the Pixel Fold, the first foldable cell phone launched by Google. With this, the line would have a total of four models, whose internal nicknames seem to have already been leaked in Google application and software codes. Check out:
