Resident Evil creator comments on closure of Tango Gameworks

-

Microsoft recently announced the closure of several studios, including Arkane Austin, Alpha Dog Studios and Tango Gameworks.

Tango Gameworks is responsible for high-caliber games, including The Evil Within saga, Ghostwire: Tokyo and even the acclaimed Hi-Fi Rush.

Meanwhile, the studio’s co-founder – Shinji Mikami – commented on what happened on his official account on platform X, confirming the closure and stating that he is “sad”. It is important to remember that, in 2023, Mikami announced his departure from Tango Gameworks.

Shinji Mikami is known as the creator of the Resident Evil saga, having worked on the original game and also on the acclaimed Resident Evil 4.

The closure of Tango Gameworks shook the gaming world, not least because Hi-Fi Rush was quite successful with players and critics, having recently received a version for the PS5.
