Since it started shipping, the Xiaomi SU7 has had some issues. But now an electric vehicle owner has revealed a rather bizarre problem, the origin of which remains unknown.
As shown in the video published on YouTube by the Carnewschina website, Xiaomi’s EV stopped working after traveling just 39 kilometers on a highway. The circumstances are not entirely clear and much less is it known what caused this problem.
According to the information released, the owner received his Xiaomi SU7 on May 4th and on May 6th he shared this bizarre story on social media. According to the story told by himself, after the SU7 stopped working it had to be towed to the Xiaomi vehicle delivery center.
The entire video is in Chinese (literally), but there are translations available so we can understand what happened. We saw in the images the car pulled over to the side of the road and with its emergency lights activated.
Next, the video shows the infotainment panel. According to the vehicle owner’s report, at one point this panel displayed the following message: “the car is about to stop, pull over safely and contact the online service center”.
The next message shown by this panel was much more alarming as it said: “the steering system is defective and cannot be replaced”. It was at this time that the support center was contacted to tow the vehicle.
Owner doesn’t give up and wants another SU7´
The Xiaomi repair center confirms that it has already received this car, but assumes that it has not yet been able to find out what the problem is. According to the information provided, this vehicle will go to the factory for a more in-depth analysis.
Faced with this situation, the owner of this vehicle was given the choice of whether he wanted to be reimbursed, but he showed persistence and preferred to receive a brand new Xiaomi SU7.
Still, Xiaomi is negotiating compensation with this persistent owner for the damage and inconvenience caused.
