A building collapsed this Wednesday (22) in Doha, the capital of Qatar, killing one person. Search teams went to the site to search for survivors among the rubble.
The Qatar Ministry of Interior has described the building as a four-story structure in the Bin Durham district of Doha.
According to the organ, the rescue teams found seven survivorswithout giving details about their health status. The person who died was inside the building at the time of the collapse.
Authorities offered no immediate explanation for the building’s collapse.
Civil Defense and police surrounded the site after the collapse, with several ambulances and bulldozers at the scene.
Qatar, a small Persian Gulf nation, hosted the FIFA World Cup last year.
