Police find body of actor Jeff Machado concreted inside trunk in Rio

Police officers from the Whereabouts Discovery Police Station (DDPA) in Rio de Janeiro found the body of actor Jefferson Machado da Costa, 44 years old, who had been missing since the beginning of the year.

“DDPA informs that Jefferson was found lifeless, the victim of homicide and concealment of a corpse. Investigations continue to determine the authorship of the crime”, wrote the specialized police station on Instagram.

According to information from TV Globo, Jeff’s body was found tied and concreted inside a wooden trunk that was buried in a plot of land in the Campo Grande neighborhood, in the West Zone of Rio.

After the location, the artist’s remains were sent to the Legal Medical Institute (IML) and a report confirmed that the body was the actor’s.

Jeff Machado worked on biblical productions for Record. The artist, who even worked on kings (2022), had last been seen in Campo Grande, west of Rio, on January 27. The Civil Police took steps to locate him and had already published a photo of the interpreter on their main search channels for missing persons.

The family reported his disappearance after finding his 8 dogs in a deplorable situation. According to the program General balancefrom Record TV, an animal NGO found the corpse of two of Jeff’s animals.

Family members have not been able to get in touch with the artist since the beginning of the year. Relatives were also surprised by his publications on social networks, because of mistakes in Portuguese, something they said was not common in his writing.

A cousin, Flávia Sá, even commented on one of Jeff’s last posts. She questioned the authorship of the publications. In one of the posts, the actor spoke of “being in peace” and “asking for forgiveness”.
