Victim lives with consequences to this day in Glória de Dourados, and is no longer able to work
Until then a hairdresser in Glória de Dourados and aged 31, Ronann Nobre Piona served his last client on May 16, 2016, a few hours after suffering an accident that would prevent him from having the same life as before. As he reported and witnesses testified in legal action, the reason was several holes on the MS-475 highway, in Mato Grosso do Sul.
The woman served was a bride. Soon after finishing helping her, Ronann drove along the road to Naviraí to see a friend. The trip would take around an hour.
The car that the former hairdresser drove was a Palio Weekend model. The driver lost control when trying to avoid the holes in a curve near Assentamento Betel and the vehicle rolled over several times, according to police records of the accident, and was destroyed. The driver suffered several fractures and injuries, severe head and chest trauma. He was in a coma for 40 days.
Currently, Ronnan lives with sequelae in speech, walking, arm movements and has difficulties with memorization. He continues to undergo physiotherapy and speech therapy sessions to improve.
Compensation – Action requesting compensation from the State of Mato Grosso do Sul, due to Agesul (State Agency for Enterprise Management of Mato Grosso do Sul) not having maintained the highway, will guarantee the former hairdresser a monthly pension worth one salary minimum, from the date of the accident until the applicant turns 76 years of age.
Furthermore, Agesul will have to pay R$50,000 for the moral damages suffered. Ronann also requested the payment of amounts for aesthetic damage, which was denied by the Single Court of Glória de Dourados.
The sentence granting the amounts was issued seven years after the accident, after denied appeals, and was upheld by the Court of Appeal.
