HUmza Yousaf, First Minister of Scotland, intends to resign this morning, the BBC has learned.

The decision comes after the ruler was unable to gather enough votes to survive a motion of censure.

Last week, Humza Yousaf announced the decision to break the coalition agreement between the Scottish National Party and the Greens over the agreement regarding carbon dioxide emissions. Yousaf decided to abandon one of his climate goals – reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 75% by 2030 – saying the goal was “out of reach”.

In reaction, the Greens announced that they would vote in favor of a motion of censure, which argues that Parliament “has no confidence in the prime minister, in light of his government failures”. If approved, Yousaf is not legally obliged to resign, but his position will be weakened.

According to recent news, the government official will not wait for the vote and even intends to resign.
