The Palestinian enclave of Gaza has been continuously bombed for almost five months, with the exception of a short period of truce negotiated for the exchange of Israeli hostages for Palestinian prisoners. This is a reason that contributes to the impossibility of immediately establishing when and in what bombing the seven Israelites died.
In this week-long truce at the end of November, Hamas released a hundred Israelis in exchange for 240 Palestinian prisoners.
However, in a summary of what these months have been like, the Al-Qassam brigades confirmed that the number of hostages killed due to Israel’s military operations in Gaza has now exceeded 70 prisonersaccording to a statement from Abu Ubaida on Telegram.
“We tried to keep them alive, but [o primeiro-ministro israelita] Benjamin Netanyahu insisted on killing them, all seven, through attacks by the Israeli army,” Abu Ubaida added.
Israel launched a military campaign by air, land and sea against the Gaza Strip after a Hamas attack on October 7 left around 1,200 dead in southern Israel, followed by the taking of two and a half hundred hostages.
Israel’s response has resulted in the deaths of more than 30,000 Palestinians so far, according to the Hamas-run Ministry of Health, most of them children.
