BMW 5 Series arrives in Brazil with a focus on technology; see price

The 100% electric version of the BMW 5 Series is now available in Brazil. The new generation of the German brand’s most successful executive sedan arrives on the market with a strong focus on technology and artificial intelligence. The announcement comes just three weeks after the launch of its main competitor in the luxury car sector, Mercedes, which launched the Mercedes-Benz E-Class.

The vehicle has a renewed look, with a design that highlights its elegance and sportiness. Compared to the previous model, this new generation has grown in all dimensions: length (totaling 5.06 m), width (1.90 m) and height (1.51 m), with an increase in the wheelbase to 2.99 m.

The front of the vehicle is marked by headlights and BMW’s traditional double kidney grille, now equipped with LED elements for direction indicators and daytime running lights. On the side, the high beltline, black painted side skirts and details such as recessed door handles and the “5” emblem on the C column highlight the sporty character of the sedan, while the horizontal LED taillights reinforce its robust and elegant lines.

Focus on technology

The car has a great focus on the best of BMW’s technology. The 12.3-inch panel behind the steering wheel has few buttons, but the features of the 14.9-inch multimedia center are numerous. Starting with the driving assistant, which offers level 3 autonomous driving in countries that allow the use of artificial intelligence for decision making. The model also features the system Driving Assistant Professionalwhich encompasses a series of assistants, such as adaptive travel speed control and a tool that keeps the car on the road with extreme precision without interference from the driver, even in congested situations.

The BMW 5 Series also parks 100% independently. Simply activate the system and follow the maneuvers on the multimedia screen. There is also the Digital Key Plus, a virtual key system, compatible with iPhone and Samsung Galaxy smartphones, which eliminates the need for a physical key and facilitates access to the car exclusively using your cell phone. The key can be shared with up to 5 people remotely.

The model also features an Intelligent Personal Assistant (IPA). It allows you to control everything by voice, including temperature changes, opening windows, lights, media, among other functions. The model comes with built-in Alexa, enabling home automation and the unique interaction of an external Alexa with the car.

BMW 5 Series values ​​and charging time

BMW’s new bet arrives in Brazil, with the 100% electric version, with a suggested price starting at R$759,950. For the hybrid version, which will arrive in the coming months, the brand has not yet announced the price.

The vehicle is fully recharged in 4h15 at the BMW Wallbox, which has 22kW of power and is delivered at no additional cost to the customer. In DC networks, the battery can be charged with a power of up to 205 kW. This allows you to recharge from 10 to 80% in just 30 minutes.

Colors

The new BMW i5 comes with 10 color options. They are: Alpine White, Sapphire Black, Carbon Black, Sophisto Grey, Mineral White, Phytonic Blue, Oxide Grey, Brooklyn Grey, Cape York Green and Fire Red and three interior finishing options in Merino Leather (Black, Cooper and Silverstone).
