The Civil Police’s Drug Trafficking Investigations Department (Denarc) announced the arrest of a 39-year-old man, suspected of being the author of several murders related to drug trafficking by a faction in Rio Grande do Sul. The capture took place in São Pedro de Alcântara, Santa Catarina.

The individual, wanted since November 2023, had been on the run since breaking his electronic ankle bracelet while he was in a semi-open regime. He was found in a rented residence, using false documents and a fictitious name.

According to delegate Gabriel Borges, responsible for the operation, the suspect did not offer resistance during arrest. Although no weapons or drugs were found in his possession, Borges emphasized the danger of the captured man. He has an extensive criminal history, including theft, trafficking, illegal possession of weapons and threats.

Despite having no official homicide records, authorities say he is linked to several deaths, including a planned murder against a military police officer. The suspect is also associated with a faction based in Porto Alegre, with branches in other regions of Rio Grande do Sul.
