Ukrainian President Volodomir Zelensky said today that Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin will stop at nothing to rule forever, including committing crimes in Ukraine that require his trial by the International Criminal Court (ICC).
In his daily speech, the Ukrainian head of state said that Putin’s re-election “has no legitimacy, nor can it have any, this person has to sit in the dock in The Hague”.
Zelensky stated that “everything Russia is doing in the occupied territories is a crime” and “must deserve a legal response to everything that Russian murderers did in this war to guarantee Putin’s eternal leadership.”
“There’s only one thing that scares the most [Putin do que perder o poder]: accountability”, said Zelensky, for whom his Russian counterpart is “drunk with power” and “will stop at nothing to govern forever”.
The Russian Central Election Commission (CEC) announced today, at the end of three days of voting and according to still provisional results, that Putin was re-elected president of Russia with more than 87% of the votes.
