The 11-year-old child who fell from the fourth floor of a building in Bairro São Mateus, South Zone of Juiz de Fora, on the morning of this Monday (18), he is in stable condition, according to the Santa Casa de Misericórdia of Juiz de Fora. Also according to the hospital, which released the medical bulletin this Tuesday morning (19), the girl remains hospitalized in the institution’s children’s ICU.
The victim of the fall, who suffered a fractured spine and wrist, was initially taken to the Juiz de Fora Emergency Hospital (HPS) and then sent to Santa Casa, still on Monday afternoon.
Initially, Samu’s advisors had informed that the girl had undergone surgery at HPS. However, the Tribune found that there was no need to carry out a surgical procedure until Tuesday afternoon. The Department of Health and Santa Casa have not confirmed the information so far.
The Fire Department, responsible for responding to the incident, reported that there is a suspicion that the girl had climbed onto the window of the apartment, which would have caused the child to lose balance and fall.
