Teacher killed in car accident on BR-267 is honored at school
The return to classes at the Juscelino Kubitschek State School, suspended last Tuesday (19) after the tragic accident that culminated in the death of three teachers from the Juiz de Fora state network, returned this Monday (25) with tribute to professor Roberto Costa Neto.
Born in Formiga, in the Center-West of Minas, Roberto taught math classes. He was driving the car on the day of the accident and was returning from the Valadares District, where he was teaching, when, at km 126, near Bairro Igrejinha, he ended up hitting another vehicle, which was coming in the opposite direction.
This Monday, around 100 students, teachers and employees of the institution, and guardians gathered to pay homage to the teacher, whom they remembered fondly during the ceremony. The teacher’s parents and sister were also at the school.
“He was so special that perhaps God wanted him to go sooner and that’s why he lived life with such intensity. That’s what warms our hearts in a way,” said the director, Reuler Nascimento.
Photos and videos of Roberto at different times were also shown and at the end, amidst applause, balloons in honor of the teacher were released into the sky.
“The organization involved all the teachers and the students also made posters with phrases expressing the love they had for Roberto. A small way we thought of saying goodbye with the love and affection he deserves. He was a unique person in our school and our lives“, said his friend, Jorge Tostes.
The seventh day mass takes place at 7pm this Monday, at the Igreja Matriz de Santa Luzia, located at Rua Ingrácia Pinheiro, 160.
