PSOL pre-candidate for mayor of São Paulo, federal deputy Guilherme Bouloshe stated in an interview with Yellow On Airfrom VEJA, that the arrest of the alleged perpetrators of the murder of the councilor Marielle Franco and driver Anderson Gomes is “above all, a relief, albeit late”.
This Sunday, the 24th, the Federal Police preventively arrested federal deputy Chiquinho Brazão and his brother Domingos Brazão, counselor at the state Court of Auditors, accused of ordering the parliamentarian’s death in 2018. Rivaldo Barbosa, former head of the Rio Civil Police de Janeiro, was also arrested for helping to plan and hide the crime.
In the investigation, the PF points out political differences between the brothers and Marielle as possible motivations for the crime. The councilor worked for popular housing on lands dominated by the militia and which were used for real estate expansion by the group linked to the brothers. But, for Boulos, this reason is not convincing.
“I think we need to wait for the PF investigations to follow. In fact, the Federal Police did an exemplary job in one year and three months after President Lula took office; the general director of the Federal Police, Andrei Passos, brought this result. Now, the deputy has been arrested. Now, Chiquinho Brazão has been arrested. Now, Domingos Brazão has been arrested. Will these people collaborate with the investigations? If they collaborate with the investigations, I believe we can come up with a more feasible motivation. We already know who killed, now who ordered the killing. I think the next step in the investigation is to find out what led these people to order Marielle to be killed,” he concluded.

The pre-candidate also spoke about the municipal dispute in São Paulo. Asked about the growth of the current mayor Ricardo Nunes In voting intention polls that point to a technical tie between the two, Boulos said that it is impressive that his name is ahead, even after so much public spending made by Nunes.
“It’s a feat that I’m still at the front, first of all, preserving the 30-somethings. After the blatant use of the public machine that we have had in the last period, there were practically 400 million reais, 375 million reais spent by the mayor on advertising to sell a city that does not exist and promote his management with public money.”
