One of the saddest moments in ‘The Big Bang Theory’ occurs in season eight, with the death of Mrs. Wolowitz, Howard’s mother

One of the most popular and beloved sitcoms made to date was ‘The Big Bang Theory‘, shown between 2007 and 2019, in which we follow a group of nerdy friends facing life’s dilemmas.

Throughout its 12 seasons, the series has brought a lot of laughs, with jokes that generally involve a theme scientificphysical or what many prefer, geek. After all, in addition to being renowned scientists and true geniuses, the main group are also nerds and fans of video games and comics.

Following the development of these characters for 12 years, some sad moments in the series were inevitable. That said, there is a consensus that one of the saddest episodes of ‘The Big Bang Theory’ is number 15, from season 8, called ‘The Comic Book Store Regeneration’.

This is because it was in this episode that the group felt the death of a character who, even though she never appeared on screen, had already brought a lot of laughs from the cast and the public: the mother of Howard (played by Simon Helberg).

An aggressive stereotype of overprotective and irritable mothershe never appeared in the production — but her emblematic voice (of Carol Ann Susi) left his own mark.

But why did the series’ writers decide to include this death in the plot? The truth is that this was never planned. The producers made this decision after their own Carol Ann Susi passed away in November 2014.

Blind laughter

A Mrs. Wolowitz, as the series’ characters always call it, had its first “appearance” in episode 7 of the first season. She was arguing and yelling from an out-of-sight room with his then-girlfriend. Howard, Christy (Interpreted by Brooke D’Orsay).

Although the character is not very inviting, at the end of season 7 Stuart (Kevin Sussman), the owner of the comic book store, moves into his house after his business suffers a fire, and even helps take care of it, while Howard gets married and goes to live with his wife, Bernadette (Melissa Rauch).

Still, when the Mrs. Wolowitz he died, all group members lamented the occasion, when they admitted that she had still represented, in some way, a mother figure to all of them.

The death was revealed, as already mentioned, in the episode 15 of season 8. In case, Howard gets into trouble with Stuart, who takes some furniture from Howard’s mother’s house to redecorate the comic book store; until he receives a call from his aunt, who tells him that the woman had passed away.

Carol Ann Susi

Comedy veteran, Carol Ann Susi passed away on November 11, 2014, after an intense struggle with cancer. Her last appearance on ‘The Big Bang Theory,’ in episode 8 of season 8, was taped just five days before she passed away.

After his death, his voice would appear on one more occasion in ‘The Big Bang Theory’, in season 11, amid a sequence of Howard flashbacks in episode 9.

However, the series also honored her in two ways after her death: at the end of episode 9 of the 8th season, released shortly after the news of her death, in which the message appears “Every time you spoke, we laughed. You will be in our hearts forever”, in memory of Susi. Additionally, a small photo of her was also added to the side of the refrigerator in her apartment. Leonard It is Sheldon.
