Businesswoman stabbed at the behest of a couple in Ceará pretended to be dead for suspects

In an exclusive interview with TV Verdes Mares, the victim told what he remembers from the crime scene and detailed his treatment. The case happened in January this year:

“When they entered, I became suspicious. I thought it was robbery. I remember they asked if there were clothes they could wear for their girlfriends. When I saw they were going to do something, I came back. Then he pulled it out, covered his mouth and said ‘you lost it’. In the middle of the situation in which I was fighting back, I felt a man talking to me: ‘stop, pretend to die and they will stop’. So I pretended”, said Laísa.

“I wasn’t afraid, I was scared to be going through that. I knew that I wasn’t a woman, I wasn’t. That was it, helplessness. I had to defend myself, so I tried to fight back. They felt confident in doing it because I am a woman”, said the victim.

The businesswoman said that she had been hired irregularly by the couple and, after realizing, she tried to ask for her labor rights.

“I tried to adjust, negotiate. Savana (the clinic administrator) and I met in a job we did a long time ago at a clinic. She helped me a lot there. You are surprised, because she was a person of empathy with everything, humble , she went hungry. She talked a lot about her father, who was always a worker”, he reported.

Regarding the dentist, Laísa said that she didn’t have much of a relationship with him, but that the man was always “very authoritarian”.

“He was always head high, very authoritarian. She didn’t have the courage to fire him, it was always him. I feel sorry for (those involved), because they lost their lives.”

Laísa had consequences from the cuts. She still regains movement in one of her arms and one of her legs. She has received help from a multidisciplinary team and is running a raffle to cover all the costs.

“The routine is slowly returning to normal. When I left there (the hospital), I couldn’t move an arm, my leg wouldn’t lift. Now, I’m walking. Before, I couldn’t speak or eat. I’m very grateful to the professionals. Anyone who wants to help me , I will be very grateful for the prayers and point in the raffle”, she added.

A dentist and a clinic administrator were arrested on January 15 and identified as having ordered the attempted murder against the businesswoman. They were identified as Francisco Jonhnatan Alves e Silva, aged 38, and Savana Silva de Oliveira, aged 24.

The Police reported that the couple paid R$5,000 to criminals to kill businesswoman Laísa Andrade, 26, in Juazeiro do Norte, in the interior of Ceará, according to the Civil Police. On January 12, two men went to the store where Laísa works and stabbed her, at the behest of the couple, who have a labor debt of R$10,000 with the victim.

According to the police, the amount of R$5,000 would be divided between Marcelo Barbosa de Almeida and José Pedro das Chagas Pinto de Sousa, both arrested; and a third suspect, known as ‘German’.

The police explained that Alemão was going to forgive a drug debt owed by the executors, Marcelo and José Pedro, and would give a portion of the R$5,000 to each of them. As the murder was not carried out, according to the police, the couple Francisco Jonhnatan Alves and Savana Oliveira did not pay the money to the perpetrators of the attempted murder.

The investigations also showed that Alemão was a patient of dentist Francisco Jonathan Alves and that was how they made their first contact to plan the crime.

In a recent note, the Court of Justice of Ceará (TJCE) said that the complaint was accepted by the Court and that everyone is accused of the crime committed against the victim. They have already filed a response to the accusation. At the moment, due to a preliminary presentation presented by one of the defendants, the case is with the Public Prosecutor’s Office to give an opinion. The process remains ongoing.
