Buses with mechanical failures cause accidents in BH and the metropolitan region | Minas Gerais

Two buses with mechanical failures caused accidents in Belo Horizonte and metropolitan region. The first vehicle caught fire and was completely destroyed. due to an electrical failure, on Tuesday night (26), in the Maria Goretti neighborhood, Northeast region of the capital.

The second lost control due to brake failure, collided with a wall and broke into a house, in the early morning of this Wednesday (27), in the Tereza Cristina neighborhood, in São Joaquim de Bicas in Greater BH.

According to information from the Fire Department, the bus driver on line 8501which runs between the Maria Goretti and Engenho Nogueira neighborhoods, He said he noticed the lower part of the vehicle’s dashboard on fire, he then pulled over and removed the passengers.

Soon after, the bus was engulfed in fire and consumed by flames. According to firefighters, the accident was possibly caused by an electrical failure. (video below)

A house close to where the vehicle caught fire had its window panes cracked and its plumbing melted due to the intensity of the heat. No one was injured in the accident.

Early in the morning, this Wednesday (27), a second bus, which also had mechanical failures, crashed into the wall and entered a housein the city of São Joaquim de Bicas, metropolitan region of BH.

According to the Military Police (PM), the vehicle from line 3851which runs the São Joaquim de Bicas/Belo Horizonte route, crashed into the wall after the driver lost control of the steering wheel when he realized that the brakes were no longer working.

The PM reported that the driver said he was returning the vehicle to the garage, as it had presented mechanical failures, and when going down Avenida José Gabriel de Resende, in the Tereza Cristina neighborhood, he noticed that the brakes were not working, he then threw the vehicle into the wall of the residence.

After hitting the wall, the bus hit the garage pillars and damaged a parked car. There were no victims and the company responsible for the vehicle was responsible for removing it from the location.
