NThis Wednesday morning, the FC Porto Academy project was presented by the architects, the club’s financial administrator and Pinto da Costa, the club’s president and candidate for a new term, in the VIP gallery at Estádio do Dragão.
After the architects explained the project, FC Porto’s financial administrator, Fernando Gomes, spoke about the economic issues linked to the construction. But, first, he ‘attacked’ André Villas-Boas’ candidacy.
“Today It should be a day when most Porto fans are celebrating. Unfortunately, this is not the case. Someone took charge, after everything we saw, of a long period of work lasting several years, just because this huge project came into question. It is not understood. It’s a shame that it’s not that festive day and that there are those who divide the universe of Porto fans without any fundamental reasons to justify it”, criticized Fernando Gomes.
“This has nothing to do with elections. FC Porto has been looking for a suitable project for years and we have finally reached this situation because a lot of good will converged. It was more than two years ago that this administration contacted Câmara da Maia to find this location. He welcomed us with open arms. It would be remiss to let this die. There is a lot of money invested. a lot of work, a lot of determination”, assured the administrator, also saying that there was “no better end of term”, addressing Pinto da Costa.
