Man is arrested for hanging and threatening his ex-wife with death in Volta Redonda | South of Rio and Costa Verde

A 40-year-old man was arrested for attacking his 33-year-old ex-wife on Wednesday night (27) in Volta Redonda (RJ). The crime took place around 7pm, at the victim’s home, in the Aterrado neighborhood.

According to the Police Station Specialized in Women’s Assistance (Deam), the victim said that her ex-husband broke into the property along with his construction assistant with the intention of finding her with another man. He did not accept the end of the relationship.

The woman, who was alone, was choked and threatened with death. The accused then fled.

According to Deam, the victim underwent a forensic examination, which confirmed the injuries resulting from the hanging.

The ex-husband was found hiding in a nephew’s house, in the Coqueiros neighborhood, and taken to Deam. He, who already has a conviction for homicide, will be charged with bodily harm, threats and insults.
