The Itajaí Criminal Investigation Division (DIC) arrested two men accused of the crime of intimidating a witness to a murder. The police were investigating the death when one of the witnesses reported that she was being persecuted and threatened by the alleged perpetrator of the crime.
On Wednesday afternoon, civil police officers from the DIC went to the witness’s workplace, in the city of Navegantes, and saw when the suspect, accompanied by another man, began to chase the victim with a black vehicle.
Upon seeing the police, the driver began to flee at high speed through the center of Navegantes, even hitting a car parked inside the Fort Atacadista supermarket. A bandit was captured…

Upon seeing the police, the driver began to flee at high speed through the center of Navegantes, even hitting a car parked inside the Fort Atacadista supermarket. One criminal was captured at the time of the accident, the other broke into a nearby house, where he was also captured.
A machete was found in the car. In addition to resisting arrest, they tried to break cell phones. The suspects were charged with the crime of coercion during the process, resistance, procedural fraud, dangerous driving and trespassing.
One of the prisoners was also being sought due to a preventive detention order for drug trafficking. The Civil Police did not say what crime of murder they were involved in, only that it occurred in 2024.
