Jeremy Renner overcomes serious accident on return to “Mayor of Kingstown”

Paramount+ released the first teaser for the third year of “Mayor of Kingstown”, a series starring Jeremy Renner (“Hawkeye”). The production marks the actor’s return to action, overcoming the serious accident at the beginning of 2023, when he was run over by a snowplow vehicle, his chest collapsed and was left between life and death.

Somberly, the preview for season 3 begins with a funeral and highlights the protagonist’s visit to a cemetery.

Co-created by Sheridan and actor Hugh Dillon (from the cast of “Yellowstone”), “Mayor of Kingstown” is one of Paramount+’s most successful series. The plot follows the McLusky family, power brokers in Kingstown, Michigan, where the prison business is the only thriving industry. Renner plays Mike McLusky, an ex-convict who becomes a broker in relations between the city’s police officers and prisoners.

In the new episodes, a series of explosions rock Kingstown and its citizens, as a new face of the Russian mafia establishes itself in the city and a war on drugs intensifies inside and outside the prison walls. The pressure is on Mike McLusky to end the war, but things get complicated when a familiar face from his past threatens to undermine the “mayor’s” attempts to keep peace between all factions.

The cast also highlights Kyle Chandler (“Godzilla vs. Kong”), Dianne Wiest (“The Mule”), Taylor Handley (“Vegas”), Aidan Gillen (“Game of Thrones”), Tobi Bamtefa (“Tin Star”) , Michael Reventar (“See”) and screenwriter Hugh Dillon himself, among others.

In addition to this attraction, Sheridan is also the producer/creator of “Yellowstone”, “1923”, “1883”, “Tulsa King”, “Operation Lioness”, “Lawmen: Bass Reeves” and the upcoming “Landman” and a new attraction spin-off of “Yellowstone” starring Matthew McConaughey (“Dallas Buyers Club”).

Season 3 premieres on June 3rd.
