The 29th edition of the Passion of the Christ, in Fernando de Noronha, moved the public, on Thursday night (28). The play, with free entry, was performed outdoors, in Vila dos Remédios. Actors and extras circulate around the historic site and interpret the last days of Christ.
The show has 48 scenes that retrace the trial, Herod’s bacchanal, the Calvary, the crucifixion and the resurrection of Jesus, among other moments. The performance lasts an hour of ten minutes.
“It’s a blessing to play Jesus Christ, it’s always exciting. His message of love is insurmountable, modern, you can’t help but be moved. I just have to thank you”, said Amandi.
The final scene is at the top of the Igreja dos Remédios and the audience applauded emotionally. Library assistant Gustavo Bezerra followed the show and approved the piece.
“Wonderful, a show in which we see the community come together to tell a story from so long ago that moves humanity. We leave with a flowery soul, because of the Passion of Christ”, said Gustavo.
Education manager Catarine Marcionilo saw the play for the first time on the island and was moved.
“I thought it was fantastic, the presentation is beautiful, it renews our soul, renews our hope. I am delighted with people’s commitment”, declared Catarine.
The play will be performed again this Friday (29), starting at 9pm. The event is promoted by the Dona Nanete Cultural Group and has support from the Island Administration.
