Amazon confirmed this Monday (April 1) that will postpone production of the second season of Gen V, whose recordings would begin on the 8th of this month. The decision is a direct response to the death of actor Chance Perdomo, who played the role of Andre Anderson in the production.

Also known for his role in Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Perdomo was the victim of a motorcycle accident whose details remain scarce. The death was confirmed by the 27-year-old actor’s representatives, who asked fans to respect the privacy rights of his family.

To date, producers of Gen V are working with the indefinite postponement of the series, which did not receive a new return date. Only after the teams involved have time to deal with their grief will the writers and producers decide what to do with the second season.

Gen V could completely change without Perdomo

Although he was not considered the protagonist of Gen V, Perdomo had a very important role in the series. As one of the students at Godolkin University, he acted as a close companion of Marie Moreau (Jaz Sinclair), who has the power to manipulate her own blood.

Perdomo showed Andre Anderson as a popular but insecure young man. Able to control magnetic waves and manipulate different types of technology, he had to deal with the great pressure of being able to meet his father’s high expectationsPolarity (Sean Patrick Thomas), another recurring figure in the production.

Anderson is a very important part of Gen V and, without him, Amazon will have to change several other characters and narrative lines. As a result, the company may end up resorting to calling on a new actor for the role.

Born in Los Angeles in 1996, Perdomo grew up in the English city of Southampton, having developed an interest in the arts during his adolescence. The series’ producers lamented the tragic eventthe same stance adopted by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios.
