The triathlete Luísa Baptista was discharged from hospital this Monday (1st) after being hospitalized for 100 days. She suffered a serious accident nthe São Carlos region, in the interior of the state of São Paulo, in December.
She preparing for the Paris Olympics when she was run over by an unlicensed motorcyclist. The case took place on Estrada Municipal Abel Terrugi (SCA-329), in the district of Santa Eudóxia.

Luisa had injuries on almost the entire right side of her body, lung perforations and open fractures in the hand and leg. She was admitted to the hospital in severe hemorrhagic shock, and her heart stopped for eight minutes.
After the accident, the triathlete received treatment at Santa Casa de São Carlos and the Hospital das Clínicas of the University of São Paulo (USP), and was later transferred to Hospital São Luiz – Itaim, in the South Zone of the capital of São Paulo,
For treatment, she used extracorporeal oxygenation therapy (ECMO).
Now, she will follow the rehabilitation process and must also undergo another surgical procedure, in which a hip prosthesis will be placed.
Who is Luisa Batista
The athlete represented Brazil in the last edition of the Pan American Games, in Santiago, Chile.
Luisa also represented the country in the 2019 edition of the Pan, in Lima, an edition in which she was champion in the individual and mixed categories, in addition to the Tokyo Olympic Games, with 32nd position in the individual competition.
