JEnnifer Garner announced this Monday, April 1st, on her Instagram account, that her father, William John Garner, died last Saturday. He was 85 years old. The actress also shared a set of photographs from her childhood and youth alongside her father.
“My father died peacefully on Saturday afternoon. We were with him, singing ‘Amazing Grace’ as he left us. While there is no tragedy in the death of an 85-year-old man who lived a healthy and wonderful life, I know that the Grief is inevitable, waiting around unexpected corners”, the actress began by writing.
“Today is about gratitude. We are grateful for our father’s gentle demeanor and quiet strength. For the way he teased with a mischievous smile, and for the way he invented the role of father to an ever-patient girl. We are grateful for his work ethic , leadership and faith”, he continued, later thanking the medical center that accompanied him.
