The grandmother of little Ayron Felipe de Oliveira de Barbosa, four years old, gave details of the moment the boy was run over by a car in Arapongas, north of Paraná, last Saturday night (30).

According to Rosimeire Ferreira, the grandson went to hug a friend. “When he crossed the street, the car went up and crashed. The children ran out and screamed,” he said.

Furthermore, it was the grandmother who removed the child from under the vehicle. “When I arrived, the men were lifting the car with their hands and my son was asking ‘lift the car’. My attitude was to lie down under the car to get my grandson out. On my arm, the last thing he said to me was ‘oh, grandma’.

The driver of the car was drunk and did not have a National Driving License (CNH). The police seized the vehicle, which had beer cans inside. At first, the police released the driver, as the deputy on duty understood the case as manslaughter, when there is no intention to kill. However, the chief deputy understood differently and intends to request the man’s preventive detention.

After the accident, the boy who was run over was taken to the hospital, but he did not survive. The Apucarana Legal Medical Institute (IML) collected the body. The case left the city in mourning.
