Three people died in minibus accident
Three people died and 19 were injured after a minibus, from the company Pompei Turismo, overturned in Nossa Senhora das Graças, in the northern region of Paraná. The accident was recorded on Sunday night (31), according to the State Highway Police (PRE).
According to PRE, the vehicle was traveling with 22 passengers in total along PR-317 and overturned on the shoulder after being closed.
The accident happened around 7:30 pm, on the stretch between Santa Fé and Santo Inácio.
Two 62-year-old women and a 63-year-old man died at the scene, according to PRE. The injured, aged between six and 65, were taken to hospitals in Colorado, Santo Inácio and Maringá.
The police reported that the minibus left Maringá, in the north of Paraná, headed for Regente Feijó, in the interior of São Paulo.
The vehicle was transporting passengers returning from a religious convention in Maringá.
In a statement, the company regretted the incident and reported that it is cooperating with the authorities, the victims and their families.
“We are committed to providing transparency and ongoing support to everyone involved,” the note ends.
The Civil Police are investigating the causes of the accident.
