The veterinary expert responsible for the investigation, Maristela Melo de Oliveira, carried out additional tests, such as x-rays, which ruled out the hypothesis of violent death. According to her, the absence of fractures in the region of the anaconda’s head reinforced the conclusion that the death was of natural origin, without human interference.
During the procedures, the team measured the snake, which reached 6 meters and 36 centimeters, and collected DNA samples and other biological materials for future genetic and scientific studies related to the animal. The expert highlighted the importance of this information for the preservation and advancement of knowledge about the genetics of the Ana Júlia anaconda.
