The driver of a Peugeot 408 escaped practically unharmed from an accident on Tuesday night (2) in Bairro Alto, in Curitiba. She collided with a public transport bus and, according to firefighters, what saved her from serious injuries was her seat belt.

The accident happened around 11pm, at the intersection of Rio Tietê and Epaminondas Santos streets. The 57-year-old woman passed by and, according to what she told rescuers, was careless with her priority.

Despite the impact, which destroyed the front of the car, the driver was not injured. Firefighter Sergeant Ernesto said the belt saved her.

“The victim had no injuries other than the tightening of his seat belt. She chose not to be transported to the hospital. She said she stops by every night to pick up her daughter from college, and today she ended up having a minute of inattention and colliding with the bus”

said Sergeant Ernesto, from the fire department.

A team from the Military Police (PM) registered a report of the accident. Residents of the region commented that the stretch tends to have several accidents due to recklessness.
