The Special Border Group (Gefron) reported that two suspects of the crime were located inside the victim’s car, on BR-174 and, after noticing the presence of the police, they parked the vehicle and fled into a forested area.

According to the police, There was a confrontation with the suspects, who ended up being shot. They were taken to receive medical attention, however, the two resisted and died during the journey.

Still according to Gefron, The two confessed to being responsible for the robbery and said they intended to flee to Bolivia, where they would sell the stolen vehicle.

The delegate responsible for the case, Paulo César Brambilla, said that, initially, the crime is being investigated as a robbery.

“These people would owe money to a criminal faction and needed to pay this debt and, randomly, they chose the driver. From the beginning they had the idea of ​​killing the driver and, later, stealing”, he explained.
