The Mozambican President, Filipe Nyusi, begins a four-day visit to Portugal this Wednesday, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the 25th of April, planning meetings with his Portuguese counterpart, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, and the Prime Minister, Luís Montenegro .

In a released statement, the Presidency of the Republic of Mozambique states that Filipe Nyusi’s working visit runs until April 27, at the invitation of Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, during which “he will hold talks with his Portuguese counterpart on specific cooperation issues bilateral, boosting trade and investment, as well as holding a meeting with the Prime Minister, Luís Montenegro”.

The Mozambican head of state “will also participate in the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the April Revolution”, as well as “in the relaunch” of the signal from the state-owned Televisão de Moçambique (TVM) in Portugal, and in the launch of the book by general Atanásio Mtumuke “The End of the National Liberation Struggle in Mozambique: Operation Omar”.
