Mazda CX-80: the promising seven-seater SUV has arrived. Prices start at 63,300 euros

Already presented, the CX-80 is Mazda’s new proposal: an SUV with up to seven seats that becomes the most spacious Mazda in the European range… and with a mission, to become the brand’s new flagship in this region .

Pre-sales for this model start in May and the first units will arrive at dealers in autumn 2024.

As for prices, Mazda says that, in Portugal, they will start at 63,304 euros (Legalization and Transport Expenses not included).

Bigger, longer and taller than the CX-60, the CX-80 is equipped with a third row of folding seats, and can even have three different configurations for the second row of seats, including an option for two independent Captain Seats with space pass through to the third row, or combined with an (also) optional center console.

Engines available in the CX-80

At this launch stage, the CX-80 will be available with a choice of two powertrains: e-Skyactiv PHEV and s-Skyactiv D, which will integrate Mazda’s M Hybrid Boost 48V mild-hybrid system.

In the plug-in hybrid CX-80, the system combines a four-cylinder gasoline engine and an electric motor, which together produce a total power of 327 hp and guarantee a maximum torque of 500 Nm.

The electric range is 60 km, CO2 emissions are 36 g/km and average fuel consumption is 1.6 l/100 km, says Mazda.

Regarding the diesel-powered model, the six-cylinder in-line diesel engine generates 254 hp. This model’s consumption is between 5.7 and 5.8 l/100 km and CO2 emissions do not exceed 151 g/km.

Both engines are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and Mazda’s i-Activ all-wheel-drive system.
