Passion fruit is more accessible in supermarkets in São Paulo. The price of fruit fell by 21.46% in the comparison between March and February, according to the Supermarket Price Index (IPS), prepared by the Associação Paulista de Supermercados (APAS). “Over the first months of 2024, the price of passion fruit fell 35.3%. This is due, among other factors, to the increase in production in states in the southern region of the country, especially Santa Catarina and the northwest of Paraná”, comments Felipe Queiroz, chief economist at APAS. Pears and apples also deflated in March, recording drops of -6.11% and -1.38%, respectively.
