The passenger of a Hilux pickup truck died instantly in an accident with a truck on Tuesday night (23). The accident happened at kilometer 127 of BR-277, in the Serrinha neighborhood, in Balsa Nova, in the Metropolitan Region of Curitiba (RMC). This Wednesday morning (24), the stretch remains partially blocked.

The accident happened around 11pm, on the road towards Curitiba. The stretch is the end of the Serra de São Luiz do Purunã.
The truck driver said the vehicle had no brakes. In an attempt to avoid an accident with other vehicles, he tipped the vehicle over to avoid crashing, but the load spread.
The vehicle was carrying heavy coils, and one of them ended up on top of the truck. The vehicle was completely destroyed and, with the impact, one of the passengers died instantly.
The driver of the truck and a second passenger were injured. They were taken to the hospital out of danger. The truck driver was not injured. A team from the Federal Highway Police (PRF) registered an accident report.
Traffic affected
Due to the accident, traffic was completely blocked until the early hours of Wednesday. In the morning, at kilometer 128, there is a closure of lane 1 towards Curitiba. According to the Via Araucária concessionaire, traffic is flowing through lane 2.
