A head-on collision between a bus and a car left three people injured this Thursday morning (24) on BR-393 (Rodovia Rio-Santos), in Angra dos Reis (RJ). The accident happened at 7:42 am, at km 291, at the Pontal curve.

According to CCR RioSP, the concessionaire that manages the highway, the bus driver was unable to inform the correct number of passengers because the vehicle was overcrowded.

As shown in the image above, the car ended up off the road after the collision. Despite the damage to the vehicle, the victims were on the bus. They suffered minor injuries and were taken to a city hospital.

Contacted by g1, Viação Senhor do Bonfim, responsible for the city’s public transport, confirmed the accident and said that the other passengers were transferred to another bus and continued their journey.

“Viação Senhor do Bonfim informs that a company bus was involved in a traffic accident, this morning, near Pontal. Three passengers on the bus were rescued with minor injuries. Other passengers were transferred to another bus and continued their journey .”

Traffic was closed and there were delays during this period, but it has now returned to normal with the removal of vehicles from the area.
