The Civil Police, through the Specialized Homicide and Personal Protection Police Station (DHPP), launched Operation De Cujos this Wednesday morning (23.04), to comply with six court orders, including arrest warrants and search and seizure against those investigated for the crimes of kidnapping, torture, completed and attempted murder, which occurred in 2021 in Cuiabá.
During the operation, three search and seizure warrants and three temporary arrest warrants were executed, with court orders being carried out in Cuiabá and at the Central State Penitentiary (PCE).
The investigations began on October 5, 2021, when the DHPP team was called to respond to an occurrence of a body found in the Ponte de Ferro region. The victim, Willian Roberto da Silva, 35 years old, was found tied by the feet and arms, with several gunshot wounds, mainly on the head.
According to DHPP investigations, the day before the body was found, Willian and his brother-in-law (a victim who managed to escape the murder) were heading to a relative’s house, when they were approached by two vehicles, a VW Gol and a Toyota Hilux, with six hooded men armed with pistols.
The criminals kidnapped the victims and took them to a residence in the Vila Rosa neighborhood in Cuiabá, where they were subjected to a trial session at the Criminal Court. After having the death sentence passed by the criminal faction, the victims were taken to a forested area, where Willian was cruelly executed.
While the victim was being shot, his brother-in-law managed to free himself from the restraints that held his feet and hands and escape, hearing the gunshots that killed Willian. DHPP investigations showed that the victim was tortured before being executed in a cruel way, being tied by the feet and arms, with no chance of defense.
As the investigations progressed, it was possible to identify the three involved in the crime, all with previous criminal records and convictions and monitored by an electronic ankle monitor, highlighting the typical actions of a criminal organization.
In view of the elements collected in the investigations, delegate Maurício Maciel Pereira Júnior represented the arrest and search and seizure warrants against those being investigated, which were granted by the Court and were carried out this Wednesday morning (24).
“The operation aims to efficiently obtain elements of information and evidence, so that the structure of the group and the identity of other suspects, who may be involved in this and other crimes, can be completely clarified,” said the delegate .
