A A collision between a Los Angeles metro carriage and a bus from the University of Southern California (USC), in the United States, left more than 50 people injured, two of whom were seriously injured, on Tuesday.
According to the North American station ABC News, which cites the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD), the accident occurred at 12:00 local time (8:00 pm in Lisbon), when the USC bus crossed the path of a train on the from the metro.
At least 55 people were assisted following the accident. Of these, two were transported to hospital in serious condition and 16 with minor injuries. The remaining 27 were treated at the scene of the accident.
Firefighters specified that 14 of the people transported to the hospital were passengers on the train and two others on the bus.
In a statement, the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority regretted what happened and offered “condolences to those injured during this accident.”
