Dore Portuguese people died and several were injured, this Wednesday, in a collision between two buses 400 kilometers from the capital of Namibia, Windoek.
The information was confirmed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs when News by the Minutewhich states that it was a “serious accident” with a tourist bus carrying, among other nationalities, 22 Portuguese tourists.
There are still “several injured” among the Portuguese.
Contacted by News by the Minutethe Secretary of State for Portuguese Communities, José Cesário, detailed that the victims had already been transported to a private hospital in the region, and among the complaints will be situations of body parts “displaced”of which shoulders.
The government official also added that the youngest victim is 42 years old, and that the majority of Portuguese people affected are in their homes. 70 years old, and the majority are women.
Portuguese tourists are from the Porto region and the travel agencies through which the Portuguese traveled were from Leça da Palmeira. The issue may have been a problem with the brakes of one of the buses, but the situation will now be investigated.
The Secretary of State for Communities said that the severity of the injuries is not yet known.
