The supply of rooms for rent in Portugal increased by 75% in the last year. Despite the increase in room availability on the market, prices rose 15% during the same period, costing 425 euros per month, according to a data analysis published by idealista, the southern European real estate marketplace.

Analyzing the district capitals, supply rose in almost all cities, with the exception of Funchal (-66%), Vila Real (-11%) and Leiria (-2%), where there are fewer rooms available to rent on the market. On the other hand, supply soared in Castelo Branco (232%), Bragança (133%), Santarém (111%), Lisbon (105%), Ponta Delgada (95%), Porto (64%), Coimbra (62% ), Viana do Castelo (44%), Braga (41%), Viseu (29%), Évora (26%), Faro (23%), Aveiro (8%), and Setúbal (6%). Prices rise in all district capitals
