The case was discovered on Wednesday afternoon (24), after the women took the child’s body to an UPA. After examinations were carried out, the medical team found some injuries, such as fractures to the child’s ribs and pelvis.
According to doctors, a staple was also extracted from the boy’s scalp. The medical team also identified a laceration on the boy’s private parts, which showed signs of sexual abuse.
The pair underwent a custody hearing in the afternoon, at the Forum Ministro Henoch Reis, where the judicial decision was handed down, in line with the opinion of the Public Ministry of the State of Amazonas (MPE/AM).
In testimony, the 33-year-old mother explained that the boy had lived with her and his partner for four months. Previously, the boy was raised by his maternal grandmother who passed away.
After moving in with the couple, the child was left in the care of the 31-year-old woman, while the boy’s mother went out to work.
Still during interrogation, the boy’s mother said that she did not know how the attacks had been carried out, but that since last week she had noticed bruises on the child’s body. She even questioned her companion who said the victim had fallen.
According to delegate Joyce Coelho, who is handling the case, none of the women assumed responsibility for the crimes, but based on the evidence presented during the process. The women were indicted for qualified homicide, aggravated torture and also for rape of a vulnerable person.
