Police chief says “there are signs” of a split in an accident that killed a Harley-Davidson owner in the center of Curitiba

Delegate Edgar Santana, from the Traffic Offenses Police Station, told Banda B that there is evidence that the rider of a Harley-Davidson who was involved in a fatal accident on Wednesday night (24) was competing in a race. The episode took place on Rua Emiliano Perneta, in the center of Curitiba.

“There are indications, according to informal reports from witnesses, that unauthorized car racing was taking place. This will be proven or not during the course of the police investigation”, said the delegate.

The military police officer who responded to the incident on the day of the incident and the driver of the Logan vehicle hit by the motorcyclist in the accident have already been interviewed at the police station. A witness to the incident had already been summoned to the police station to give his statement.

Security cameras on Rua Emiliano Perneta captured the accident that killed the motorcycle rider. The collision happened near the intersection with Rua Voluntários da Pátria. The man was approximately 50 years old. The motorcyclist’s body was taken to the Medical-Legal Institute (IML) in Curitiba. A team from the Military Police Traffic Battalion (BPTran) registered a report of the accident.
